The Rotary Club of Lake Oswego recently sponsored placement of Peace Poles in several locations around the city including selected elementary schools and the library. The project is part of a larger focus on building more peaceful communities locally and around the world. Each of the poles carries the words “May Peace Prevail” in six different languages. The languages are selected by each of the host sites to reflect the multilingual, international nature of modern society.

This photo was provided by the Lake Oswego Review. It shows Peace Pole project coordinator Rotarian Linda Brown, The WWW Group Partner Dan Pearson and students at Lake Grove elementary during the dedication of their Peace Pole in January, 2015.
